Tips and Variations

  • Place your punch bowl in the freezer or refrigerator to chill while the fruit is freezing. This is my secret for helping the Christmas punch stay colder longer. Helps to do the same for your ladle, too!
  • Use any fruit you like! Other sliced citrus like blood oranges, grapefruit, or lemons would work great; as would pineapple rings.

Storage Suggestions

This Christmas punch is best served fresh on the day you plan to serve, but you could freeze the fruit and combine the juices with the liqueur ahead of time (up to 24 hours).

Just wait to serve with champagne so the poinsettia punch doesn’t lose its carbonation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to freeze the fruit in this Christmas punch recipe?

Technically, you don’t have to, but I highly recommend it! Not only does this method help the holiday punch stay colder longer, but it also helps prevent the fruit becoming pulpy in the liquid.

How many servings are in this poinsettia punch?

This recipe yields roughly 8 servings, but it can easily be doubled or tripled to serve a thirsty Christmas or New Year’s crowd!

Can I turn this into a Christmas mocktail!

Absolutely! Simply omit the alcohol and serve with sparkling grape juice. Kids love it!
