Thanks to Avocados from Mexico for sponsoring our attendance to the event. You all are awesome! They not only sponsored our attendance to the two day event but they also sent us the cutest t-shirts to wear and spacious burlap totes to carry around. Let me just say, for the record, I love my Avocados from Mexico tote. It has quickly become one of my favorite bags. It is bright orange, which I love, super useful, and spacious and sturdy enough to hold a large load of fruits and vegetables while shopping. While at BlogHer Food I used it to carry my business cards, camera, iPhone, wallet, a scarf, an iPad, and a notebook.
The event was kicked off by Todd Porter and Diane Cu of White on Rice Couple. They have been a favorite of ours on so many levels and while listening to them talk about why they blog and their sharing some beautiful videos they’ve created, they reminded us to blog about what we love and the importance of staying true to who we are as bloggers. Thank you Todd and Diane, we are so happy we finally had the honor of meeting you and your taking the time to chat with Yvette and I one on one.
Yvette and I attended sessions ranging from food photography to the importance of vlogging. I met the sweet Catherine McCord of Weelicious and Michael Ervin who shared tips on how to create your own videos. We would eventually like to start creating some how-to-videos to share with you so look for those sometime around the fall.
We went, we saw, and yes we ate. The food presentation was pretty creative. Some of my favorites were the spinach salad on a stick and the delicate gazpacho with edible flowers served in a stem less wine glass. The mountains of fresh fruit was too pretty not to photograph and the pastries were oohhh so good too.
While at BlogHer Food we also heard from great brands who continue to remind us about the importance of building long-term relationships with brands and how to best approach a brand when wanting to partner with them.
Thank you Kim Sunee for your heartfelt session and sharing your beautiful book, “Trail of Crumbs” with us.
The event ended with a lively event at Sodo sponsored by Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman, Elise Bauer of Simply Recipes, and Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen. How lucky were we to have met them all at the event and have our picture taken with them. Thanks ladies for the fun ending to a great two days.
Avocados from Mexico, thanks again for sponsoring us to attend the event. We had a great opportunity to go and grow as bloggers because of your support. Gracias! And not only did Avocados from Mexico treat us, but they are also treating some lucky Muy Bueno readers to an amazing giveaway.
The giveaway includes that really cool burlap tote I mentioned earlier, 4 grocery bags, and a $100 Visa prepaid card for three, yes you heard that right, THREE lucky readers will win. Avocados from Mexico you all ROCK!!!
